Swimming pool leak

If you have a leak in your built-in pool, do not panic.  Inground pool leaks are not uncom­mon and in most instances require a minor repair.  How­ever, a leaky pool should not be ignored.

If your inground pool is los­ing water or leak­ing, the pool struc­ture and pool plumb­ing need to be tested to deter­mine the source of the pool leak.  Pool leak detec­tion is a spe­cial­ized aspect of pool repair that requires some high-tech equip­ment to be effec­tive.  With­out the proper pool leak detec­tion equipment  a typ­i­cal pool repair worker can spend lots of time try­ing to fig­ure out what is caus­ing your pool to leak water and as we all know, time is money.  In our 30 years of pool repair expe­ri­ence we learned to not waste a homeowner’s time and money.  If you have a leaky pool we will refer you to a well qualified pool leak detec­tion spe­cial­ist.  However, most pool leak detec­tion experts aren’t licensed or qualified to do pool repairs.  Pool repairs require a Florida State Con­trac­tors License.

Once the cause of your pool leak is deter­mined, your Pool Leak Detec­tion Expert will pro­vide you with a report that you can use to get bids on to repair your pool.  Hir­ing a pool leak detec­tion spe­cial­ist is the best, most cost-effective way to fix your leaky pool.

Often, pool leaks require minor repairs.  Some common causes of a pool leak are:

• Pool pipes - pool leaks from a cracked pool pipe or faulty pool pipe joint.
• Pool pumps - pool pumps should be checked for all leaks.
• Pool crack - cracked pool shells, pool bottoms, pool walls.
• Pool hole - Has your son been using the spear gun in the pool?  We have seen it all.
• Pool slab leaks - hopefully you do not have a pool slab leak as these types of leaks can be costly.
• Tree roots - Invasive tree roots are a common problem around pools.  A smart pool landscaper will never plant invasive plant species around a pool.  If you have tree root problems around your pool, have them removed immediately.
